Poiché la sua divina potenza ci ha donato tutte le cose che appartengono alla vita e alla pietà, per mezzo della conoscenza di colui che ci ha chiamati mediante la sua gloria e virtù, attraverso le quali ci sono donate le preziose e grandissime promesse, affinché per mezzo di esse diventiate partecipi della natura divina, dopo essere fuggiti dalla corruzione che è nel mondo a motivo della concupiscenza. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
